Diversity is more than a trend in supplier development
With an annual purchasing volume of more than $6.0 billion, Restaurant Supply Chain Solutions (RSCS) negotiates volume purchases of food, packaging, equipment and other supplies from manufacturers and suppliers for purchase by operators and distributors who supply operators. As part of our commitment to the brands we support, RSCS works jointly with our brands to develop strategic relationships with diversity companies.
In 1999, approximately 1 percent of the supplier managed spend was represented by diversity. By 2015, this figure had risen to 7.4 percent and we are proud to report a system diversity spend of $441.4 million.

Restaurant Supply Chain Solutions will utilize diversity suppliers wherever possible in all aspects of our business. In compliance with this policy, RSCS will:
- Actively seek qualified suppliers for all possible requirements and opportunities.
- Assist suppliers so they fully comprehend our system’s expectations and the procedure for submitting competitive proposals to RSCS.
- Identify business development opportunities for suppliers who cannot immediately meet our system’s requirements.
- Accept only those proposals that are competitive with other supply options. RSCS does not sacrifice availability, pricing or quality with its supplier diversity purchasing decisions.
It is the intent of this policy to increase procurement from qualified diversity concerns, thereby establishing a stronger diversity business community and a more viable national economic base.
