UFPC and Yum! Brands Recognize Top Suppliers at Gala STAR Awards

Louisville, Ky. — June 11, 2007 —

Celebrating twenty-seven leading suppliers’ dazzling accomplishments, Yum! Brands, Inc. and Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op, LLC (UFPC) hosted their prestigious STAR Awards at the Marriott Legacy Town Center Hotel in Plano, Texas, April 26.

Commemorating the gala affair with forty-one statues for outstanding achievement, Yum! Brands and UFPC honored General Mills Bakeries and Foodservice with four awards, including the coveted U.S. Supplier of the Year STAR. Rainbow Chicken Farms (Pty.) Ltd. was named International Food Supplier of the Year, Paka Promotion (Hong Kong) Ltd. was named as the Global Premiums winner, and Franke Foodservice Systems GmbH received the 2006 Global Equipment Supplier of the Year.

Woodside, President and Chief Executive Officer of UFPC. “Their innovative solutions and global resources have established them as leaders in the foodservice industry.”

Four multiple-time invitees to STAR award ceremonies received special recognition as highly dedicated providers to Yum! Brands. Leprino Foods Co. has been recognized at five STAR Award ceremonies. APW Wyott has been a six-time STAR event invitee, while Griffith Laboratories and Unilever Foodsolutions have a record seven ceremonies under each of their belts.

Leprino Foods Co. was this year’s Pizza Hut Value and Service winner, while APW Wyott won the 2006 U.S. Taco Bell Equipment STAR. Griffith Laboratories received both the Caribbean Latin America STAR and the U.S. Long John Silver’s 2006 Food Quality Award. Unilever picked up three awards for 2006, receiving accolades for U.S. Taco Bell Food Value and Service and U.S. KFC Food Innovation. Unilever also achieved the U.S. KFC Food Supplier of the Year honor.

Leading this special ceremony were Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Yum! Restaurants International, Harmit Singh, and Daniel E. Woodside. Demonstrating Yum! Brands’ and UFPC’s appreciation of excellence in product development, innovation, quality assurance, value and customer service, the event included presenters Christian Campbell, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and Chief Franchise Policy Officer, Yum! Brands; Emil Brolick, President, U.S. Brand Building for Yum! Brands; Scott Bergren, President and Chief Concept Officer, Pizza Hut; and Leah Evans, Chief Food Innovation and Technology Officer, Yum! Restaurants International.
