Our objective is to continue to find ways to increase opportunities for certified diverse suppliers who are competitive with other supply options.

With an annual purchasing volume of more than $6 billion, RSCS negotiates volume purchases of food, packaging, equipment and other supplies from manufacturers and suppliers for purchase by operators and distributors. As part of our commitment to the brands we support, RSCS works jointly with our brands to develop strategic relationships with diverse companies. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is a certified diverse supplier? A company that is at least 51% owned, controlled and operated by one or more individuals with a diverse business classification who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and physically located in the U.S. In the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51% of the stock must be owned by one or more diverse owners. Eligibility for certification is typically established through a combination of screenings, interviews, and site visits.
2. Do diverse suppliers need to be certified? While certification is not required to do business with Yum/RSCS, we strongly recommend certification so that the supplier can become part of our Supplier Diversity program. If a supplier is not certified, we do encourage them to become certified with one of our approved national certifying agencies.
3. Why is certification important? Certification is an important tool that authenticates that a supplier is 51% owned, managed and controlled by a qualifying diverse group and helps ensure the integrity of Yum/RSCS’ Supplier Diversity program reporting. 4. Has your status as a diverse supplier changed? If your status has changed, you should notify us as soon as possible at SupplierDiversity@rscs.com . The change will not affect our supplier relationship, but it does impact our ability to keep information on diverse suppliers up to date.
