Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op CEO Announces Retirement

Louisville, Ky. — March 8, 2012

Daniel E. Woodside, President and CEO of Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op®, announced his intention to retire today after 13 years with the company. UFPC® is the exclusive supply chain management organization for Yum! Brands, Inc. and its national restaurant systems: KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, plus the independent brands of A&W and Long John Silver’s. The UFPC Board of Directors has formed a search committee for Mr. Woodside’s successor and will review both internal and external candidates. Mr. Woodside will participate in this process and will remain for a period of time working with the selected individual.

The leadership of Mr. Woodside, working in tandem with the UFPC Board of Directors and the Concept Boards, propelled UFPC to become the world-class purchasing organization that it is today. By focusing on excellence in purchasing, program management and distribution, and pushing creative solutions to create value, Mr. Woodside has earned the trust and respect of UFPC’s owners, business partners, Boards of Directors and team members. Mr. Woodside encouraged UFPC to accomplish greater achievements by driving strategy, growth and team member development that resulted in UFPC’s status as a leader in commodity risk management.

Prior to Mr. Woodside’s current position with UFPC, he served as Chief Operating Officer of UniPro Foodservice, Inc., President of EMCO Foodservice  and held numerous sales and marketing positions with General Foods Corp.

Mr. Woodside is currently on the foundation boards of the Kentucky Center for the Arts, Jewish Hospital and The Heuser Hearing Institute. He currently resides in Louisville, Ky.
