UFPC Team Member Honored at KFC National Convention

Louisville, Ky. — March 19, 2009 —

AKFCFTimothy A. Mueller, Senior Vice President, General Manager of the KFC National Purchasing Co-op, Inc., received a Shining Star Award at the February AKFCF National Convention in Washington, D.C.

Mueller received the award for helping to implement data warehousing initiatives within the KFC restaurant system. Data warehousing captures and tracks transaction data for benchmarking between stores and regions.

“Tim’s passion for the KFC Brand, coupled with his support of data collection, stood out in the system,” said Daniel E. Woodside, President and Chief Executive Officer of Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op, LLC (UFPC). “Data collection was part of the AKFCF Strategic Plan, with an objective to collect point-of-sale (POS) data from franchisees and assist with benchmarking. With Tim’s help, this project has now expanded to include gift cards and POS systems.”

The Shining Star Awards were launched in 1998 and allow the president of the Association of KFC Franchisees (AKFCF) to recognize individuals who have had a successful impact on the KFC franchisee community.

“Tim’s dedication and hard work are evident, and I am proud to have him as a member of the UFPC team,” Woodside said.
