UFPC Completes Outsourcing of UFPC Insurance Subsidiary

Louisville, Ky. — Feb. 1, 2005 —

Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op, LLC (UFPC) is committed to providing our owners with the highest quality product and services available in the supply chain management function. In an effort to provide our members with greater options in the insurance area, a decision was made to outsource this portion of our business.

A partnership was formed between Lockton Risk Management, based in Kansas, and Altman Insurance Agency of Louisville. Both of these organizations are currently involved with our concept co-op members in the insurance area and are familiar with our business.

Lockton is a national provider servicing multiple quick service restaurants and will handle the property and casualty product lines. Altman Insurance Agency has been involved with the health and life insurance for our owners for a number of years and will continue in these areas.

The partnership will operate under the name UFPC Insurance Connection and will continue to offer insurance products to UFPC members consistent with the current strategy. They will also continue their support of our concept annual conventions.

The effective date of the transition is March 1, 2005. The new organization will offer significant advantages to concept co-op members both now and in the future. Due to the size of the partnership, access will be available to more carriers in all 50 states. The opportunity will also be available to develop custom risk management programs for our larger member organizations.
