UFPC Creates International Equipment Business With Franke Resupply Systems, Inc.

Louisville, Ky. — Sept. 1, 2010 —

Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op, LLC (UFPC) announced the launch of a new program called UFPC International Equipment Connection, effective Sept. 1, 2010.

Franke Resupply Systems, Inc. of Smyrna, TN.The new business partnership joins UFPC Equipment Sales (a division of UFPC) and Franke Resupply Systems, Inc. of Smyrna, TN (a division of Franke Foodservice Systems) in a strategic partnership to sell restaurant equipment, smallwares, and parts to Yum! Brands franchisees located outside the United States. According to Dale Holden, Senior Vice President, UFPC Equipment Sales, the new alliance will deliver expertise in Yum! Brands equipment and international operations. "Our goal is to raise the level of service to the franchisees by combining our strengths," said Holden. "We continue to watch Yum! Brands restaurants grow internationally and are excited to create this new partnership to support the needs of these international franchisees," said President and Chief Executive Officer Daniel E. Woodside.  

UFPC International Equipment Connection is the fifth "Connection" business launched by UFPC since 2003. "In creating these business partnerships, we are leveraging existing relationships with experts in the field, and jointly creating processes that improve service and value to the franchisees," said Holden. 

Franke Foodservice Systems has over 20 years of experience in providing equipment for Yum! Brands, Inc. customers outside the United States. Bob Schiffgen, Director Sales and Marketing International for Franke Resupply Systems, will head the UFPC International Equipment Connection and coordinate with UFPC Equipment Sales on the development of sales, marketing and customer services in the new line of business.

UFPC manages the supply chain for all corporate- and most franchise-owned A&W, KFC, Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurant outlets in the United States.
